Frequently Asked Questions - Answered! Round 2
Q: How do you write? Do your characters come to you first or the plot or the world of the story? (Rachelle)
M: I usually write longhand, unless I'm under deadline and don't have that kind of time. I feel more creative that way. It's more
intimate - almost like writing in a diary or journal. I use bright colored pens and doodle when I'm plotting something out in my mind.
Also, I can really crank out the word count that way, and since I'm a pretty fast typist, I can type it in quick and get the first round of
edits done as I go.
As for the second question, I see and hear the whole story in my mind like a movie. I just have to go back and slow down the
"frames" so I can take notes and write it all down. So I guess, the characters, plot and world come all at once. Well, usually. There
are always exceptions. The Marquis de Sade for example was quite the figure. It took a wee bit of doing for me to nail down a
heroine for him...er, not literally. *grins*
Q: What do you find important in characters? How do you want your hero and heroine to be? (Tessa)
M: This is a great question! Personally, I think that no matter what their motivation is for how they act, they have to be likeable.
(No heroines who are 'too stupid to live') Their goals should be something the readers can relate to. And I'd hope that they would be
people, (or elves, werewolfs, vampires) who you would want to be, or someone you would want to be in a relationship with.
Q: What type of books do you like to write best? (Teresa)
M: I love writing fantasy and paranormal. The freedom you have with world building and characters is so much fun. But I'd have to
say, as a reader, historical romance is still my first love, and what I spend the most money on.
Q: Out of all the characters that you've written, who is your favorite and why? (Rachelle)
M: Yikes. That is a tough one. I would have to say Hanarom. The Elf warrior hero from "A Magical Encounter" my fantasy romance
novel coming out in Sept from New Concepts Publishing. I was so deeply in love with him, it took me a month or so longer than usual
to switch gears and focus on my next hero. {{sigh}} I always was a sucker for long hair. ;-)
Q: How long have you been writing? (Michelle)
M: Some of my earliest memories are of creating stories. In elementary school they were about horses and far away kingdoms. In
junior high I wrote a play and forced my neighborhood friends to act in it. In high school, I wrote my first (and after re-reading it
recently, sure to be my only) Young Adult romance novel. I’ve always loved everything about the process of writing. However, my
dream was to be a dancer, so I went to Colorado State as a dance major. It wasn’t until I got married, popped out a couple of kids
and settled in the Midwest that I tried my hand at writing again.
Q: If you had an unexpected free day what would you do with it? (Michelle)
M: Okay, I’m going to be boring and say write. It is something I truly enjoy doing, and with two kids, two pets and a job, I never
have as much time to write as I wish.
However, if this free day happened to be on a weekend during the summer, I’d put on my wench costume and hit the Renaissance
Faire instead. Er...purely for research purposes of course, and not those luscious knights.
Q: What was your inspiration to write erotica? (Sandee)
M: I'd always written hot, but had never done erotica before this sexy Alpha Dragon lord hero came to me. I knew right away that I
had to write him. But when I went to pick up my pen, he shook his head and crossed his arms about his chest. Flustered, I got down
on my knees in front of his corded, thick thighs and begged him to let me write his story. He finally agreed, but said I had to do things
his way. He told me, in a firm, smoky voice that he'd only come out to play if he REALLY got to play. *blushes* Well, I'd always been
a sucker for the bad boy. So, I broke all of my self-imposed rules and let Lachlan Black out of his cave. Boy, am I glad I did! :-)
Q: If you can go away on an island for a week or longer, which hero from your book would you pick and why him? (Linda)
M: Hmm. I'd have to say my Elf hero. While I lust after my dragon lord, he's such an Alpha, we'd fight the whole time. LOL!
Q: Are you any kin to the Hatfield's of the Hatfield's and McCoy's? (Teresa)
M: LOL! Technically, I married into the Hatfield family, but yes. My father-in-law is from West Virginia and his kin are of the same
lineage of the Hatfield's from that famous family feud. (Over a pig, I think?) I actually married into a wealth of American history. My
mother-in-law (and husband and now two kids) are Northern Cheyenne tribe members. In fact, his grandmother lived on the
reservation in Montana her entire life. I'll have to find a picture of her to post. She was an amazing lady.
M: Thanks for the great questions everybody, and keep 'em coming!

Q&A AND FAVORITES
Favorite Food - Coffee - Hey, it's food group, right?
Favorite T.V. Show - Sadly, I no longer have one. {{sniff}}
Favorite Song - "Run" by Snow Patrol - I've listened to it a million times and still am not sick of it.
Favorite Band - 30 Seconds to Mars - Jared Leto is SO cute!
Favorite Movie - This week, I'm going with an older flick, but a goodie...The Boondock Saints. Two kick butt hotties, an

Favorite Actor - Michael Fassbender (sorry Hugh) - The man is wicked hot! Oh, and...err, talented too.
Favorite Actress - Lena Headey - She was awesome in 300! :-)
Favorite Accessory - I'd have to go with my 30STM wristband at the moment. Although, my pirate ring comes in a close
second.
Note: This is from a few months ago, as alas,
I have even less time to read now.
Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to read too many books on my TBR shelf (yes shelf, no longer pile.) This is my own fault...
well not completely...HBO released the DVD of ROME's first season and that kept me occupied for at least a week. :-) Then
Prison Break came back on the air - I've been addicted to that show since it aired and am quite taken with Wentworth Miller's
character, Michael. Must be those tattoos. {{hubba, hubba}}
However, I did manage to read a few books that are worth mentioning, because they were amazingly good fun to read.
Lover Unbound - by J.R. Ward. OMG! First off, her series has got to be the BEST set of books I have read EVER! If you like
yummy Alpha hero's, Hot scenes and vampire action to rival the Matrix, then run, don't walk to the nearest bookstore and buy
these puppies!! Personally, I have a huge thing for "Z" which borderline disturbs me, but they are all delicious and I am
pretty much in love with each of them.
Tailspin - by Denise Rossetti. Simply beautiful..and the girl creates the yummiest heroes.
My review for PNR, says it all.
"Wow, wow, and wow! I can’t sing enough praise for this hot, imaginative and beautiful tale of growth, discovery,
acceptance and love. Ms. Rossetti’s Tailspin is a blistering afterburn of emotion that will grab you from the first sentence, and
draw you into an engaging, sexy and highly entertaining fantasy world.
Miriliel the Burnished is an Aetherii warrior and all anyone could ask for in a hero – loyal, lusty and luscious. With golden hair,
wings and a feathery wicked tail, he’s everything storyteller circus girl, Fledge ever dreamed of and nothing she’d thought she’
d find on earth. After Fledge saves him from a dire fate, Mirry finds himself beguiled by her. Fledge thinks herself a plain and
ordinary girl compared to his grand looks and intellect. But with his devoted attention and unwavering passion, she shines
like a diamond out of the rough and captivates Mirry with her brilliance. However, no matter how hard she makes his two
hearts beat, with his dear friend still missing and feared dead, a piece of him is lost.
Janarnavriel the Noir is a big, dark, brooding Aetherii Alpha hero who knows what he wants—Mirry. After the suffering he
endures at the hands of the vile demon who kidnapped him, he’s not afraid to take it. Jan vows if reunited with Mirry, he’ll
never waste time letting his feelings known. Afterall, his love for his Aetherii brethren brings out the best in his bruised and
battered soul. But when the demon’s claws sink further into it than any of them imagined, will Mirry alone be enough to
banish its hold? Or will they need Fledge’s incomparable spirit and love to keep them all from spinning out of control?
I loved this book! No matter how hard I tried, I could not quit reading it, even for work. It’s very rare I risk getting fired just
to sneak chapters of a book, but I did for Tailspin. My hats off to Ms. Rossetti! Her lyrical prose is beautiful and descriptive.
She breathes unadulterated life into her characters so fully and with such precision, you feel as if you stand beside them
while you follow their journey. Indeed, by the time you reach the end, it seems you have known them your whole life. All I
can say is, Fledge is one lucky lass to have these two scorching hot heroes warming her heart—and her bed.
If you like your romances hot enough to steam the computer screen and a bit on the spicy side due in part to the *ménage a
trios and *m/m themes, then I HIGHLY recommend this read. You won’t be sorry. I know I eagerly await future works by this
very talented and exceptionally creative author!"
